What if my car fails inspection?
How long do I have to fix a failed inspection?
Pennsylvania gives you a grace period — typically up to 30 days or until the inspection sticker expires — to make repairs and return for a re-inspection. Your inspection station will write up the reason for failure on a rejection sticker.
Can I drive with a rejection sticker?
Yes, a rejection sticker is valid for travel to and from a repair shop and is not an automatic cause for a traffic stop. However, you cannot drive indefinitely — address the failures promptly.
Does AutoZmotive fix inspection failures?
Yes. We handle brakes, lights, tires, exhaust, suspension, and most other common inspection failures. If you fail elsewhere, bring the rejection paperwork — we will diagnose and repair the issues, then perform the re-inspection at our shop.
What are the most common reasons for failing PA inspection?
Common causes include worn brake pads or rotors, tires below the 2/32" tread limit, broken lights, cracked windshields, and check engine lights that trigger emissions failures on newer vehicles.
